Summary

Michael tracks the next cardholder and Mahone wants revenge; T-Bag finds a new identity and gets a job offer; Wyatt extracts info on Sara’s location.
Michael and the team have one day to find the next cardholder or they risk going back to prison. Mahone seeks revenge on Wyatt who is attempting to extract info on Sara’s whereabouts, while T-Bag finds the gateway to his new id.

Director’s Take

Foot Race:
Director Nelson McCormick chats to us from Arlington where they shoot the car chase scene. Chris Vance describes the car chase with Michael, Lincoln, and Whistler. Running, sprinting, running around corners, the whole cat-and-mouse scene. Whistler thinks he’s going to get away and then he gets slammed!

Their intent was not Hollywood filming; they went for a gritty, messy car and chase scene to feel more real and intense.

McCormick says that he prepares the actor by showing him what the camera is going to see. That way they know what they need to do for the stunt or action element to make it look real. Dominic Purcell says that as an actor he’s pretty flighty, he doesn’t know what he’s going to do from minute to minute!

Director’s Take

Night escape from SONA:
Director Kevin Hooks talks about the guys having dug the tunnel. They’re waiting for the lights to go out and Michael says go. Lechero takes the cover off the tunnel and they start running. Robert Knepper describes the scene – they’re all running running running and the lights come on! Bellick, T-Bag and Lechero get caught. Little did anyone know that this was Michael’s plan.

It’s interesting to see Robert Knepper talk about what’s going through his head during the scene. You can see in his eyes how T-Bag is thinking of what to do next!

Kevin Hooks speaks further about shooting as much as they can in one lighting setup – so they do several different camera angles.

• Did this scene have enough surprise and tension for you? [I personally felt it lacked some of the drama and *gasping* surprise of Season 1]

Director’s Take

Rain:
Director Greg Yaitanes makes it rain and rain and rain! The rain was important to the episode to add suspense and threaten the escape from Sona.

Amaury liked being able to play with it and have rain whenever they wanted. “It’s like playing God here!”

They were able to incorporate wetdowns, rain, add drips and more. They rigged up the hydrant to the manifold to the hoses to the rain towers! It didn’t need to rain everywhere on the set, just where the cameras viewed.

Carlo Alban said that the rain helped him get into the scene because it was something that you had to overcome, overpower in order to get the message across.

Greg speaks about Micahel and how everything is weighing on him. But helping McGrady is beneficial to Michael’s character.
