Wade Williams spoke to SpoilerTV recently about the death of his character, Brad Bellick. Wade says he knew it was coming and he’s surprised that Bellick lasted as long as he did! “I mean he was the prison guard for a season and that they actually kept that character going for 3½ years is pretty cool.

Wade says that he would have thought his character would have been done after the boys escaped from prison, but he’s grateful to have been a part of the series.

Matt Olmstead Answers Prison Break Cast Questions (Part 2)

August 21, 2008 by Nikki Katz

Matt Olmstead answered the Prison Break cast’s questions in the latest issue of TV Guide! In Part 2 Matt talks about the Sara/Gretchen reunion, the possibility that this is the last season of Prison Break, and Sucre & Maricruz’s baby.

jodi-lyn-okeefe-prison-break-season-4.jpgJodi Lyn O’Keefe asks “Will you let Sara and Gretchen work out their history on their own terms without the boys around?
Matt replies, “That essentially describes Episode 8 of the new season. In Season 3, we saw Susan B. as cocky, the scarred and abused ex-military Company employee who enjoyed abusing others. In her world, it’s war [with Sara] and she can’t understand why they can’t call a truce. But Sara has not descended into Gretchen’s amoral netherworld, and things can’t be so easily resolved. By the time Gretchen and Sara meet again, both of them have changed significantly. Gretchen had her fun, but now everything is going to be taken away from her. And Sara has had to deal with being abducted. You’d think it would be a catfight, but it’s not. Earlier on, the confrontation might have been a battle to the death. And that showdown might still happen.

Wade Williams asks “Is Bellick getting a love interest?
Matt replies, “Bellick has always had a love interest and will continue to have one: himself. He thinks quite highly of himself and his fanciful dreams and goals. And of course, he has his mother.” Read more

The Prison Break Character Cup - Round 1 - Set 2. (Sucre won round 1 with 102 votes)

I’m picking characters at random, from all 3 seasons, dead or alive. During the first round there will be three characters placed against each other, to get it moving quicker. The one with the most votes will move on to the next round until we have a winner! [To Vote - Choose Your Favorite Character in the Poll in the Right Column]

Chicken, Rat, or Human??

September 19, 2007 by Nikki Katz

So, during Orientacion when Whistler hands Bellick some food and tells him “That’s not chicken” - I immediately thought rat.

But that’s not what Mini TV Watch thinks!

Prison Break: Panama City is rough. Remember the jail-house riots from season 1? Child’s play. It’s like 28 Days Later in there, everyday, complete with cannibalism (Bellick to inmate: “Mmmmm…chicken”) and rotting corpses (inmate to Bellick: “That’s not chicken”). And the only way to get out is in a body bag. Or in the stomach of someone in the body bag.

So what do you think?!?

About Brad Bellick

September 10, 2007 by Nikki Katz

An article at Digital Spy about Bred Bellick…

Taking Schadenfreude to a new level, we simply love Prison Break’s Brad Bellick here at Cult Spy because he’s one of life’s great losers – always destined to fail in hilarious circumstances.

With his stocky figure and animalistic bulldog face, Bellick was initially seen as the power-abusing Captain at Fox River State Penitentiary, home to Michael Schofield and Lincoln Burrows. He wallowed in the power he was given over inmates and was prone to some serious corruption.

But there’s a reason Bellick’s time on the show was extended into the outside world once the action moved away from the prison – his hapless suffering is a joy to behold! Just witness how he’s set up by T-Bag at the end of the second season for the murder of a hooker, followed by a couple of bullets to the leg and then off to the slammer.

The bewildered looks on his face when he’s stitched up are always great fun, in a similar vein to cartoon villains like Dick Dastardly coming undone in their fiendish plans. Top of the heap is perhaps his ill-fated hook-up with former prison guard Geary. Not only had Geary’s lies previously cost Bellick his job, but when the pair settled their differences and found T-Bag’s cash, he promptly beat up Bellick. The bad luck didn’t end there, for Geary’s death is then blamed on him because of an angry voicemail he left!

Nonetheless, Bellick managed to generate a strong degree of pathos when we discovered that his private life was governed by misery. Despite being middle-aged, he still resides with his mother and was on the verge of suicide when he opted to pursue the fugitives for the reward money.

There lies the key to what makes him tick – any easy substitute for the love and affection he’s been deprived of. Material wealth is certainly at the top of the list, hence his relentless pursuit of various rewards and cash funds throughout the second season.

A total, unashamed asswipe of the highest order, Brad Bellick will hopefully continue to suffer unfortunate and embarrassing fates during the upcoming third season of Prison Break.
