Robert Knepper Reminisces About Prison Break
July 5, 2009 by Nikki Katz
Robert Knepper chats with Digital Spy about his character and the way that Prison Break ended.
Robert reveals that he’s happy with the way the series ended. “We talked about so many different possibilities, but I thought the show was a whole as a great book-end. We all agreed that purgatory was the best end for my character. If not, there would have been a lot of people saying, ‘Oh my God - T-Bag’s out!’ I’m very happy with it, especially the reference to the pocket-grabbing thing. We actually had the same costumes from the first season, too. It was a great way to end the whole thing for me.”
As for his favorite part of being a part of the show? “The humour of T-Bag. I loved being this kind of guy who attacked every frickin’ race on the planet! When I did the first episode, it wasn’t funny - he wanted to start a riot against the blacks. I was so worried when that episode aired - being in Chicago - that I would need security. I thought the black population would think I was a racist and beat me up or something! But they were the most vocal about it - they thought it was great! Any time that T-Bag got to shock the hell out of someone, those were my favourite moments.”
Robert says that he never worried whether T-Bag would survive, because he wanted to be present in the moment. “I never thought ahead. I wanted to do the best job I could do. I jumped through all the hoops that you do as an actor and I signed a seven-year contract. I had a friend once who said, ‘T-Bag put the prison in Prison Break’. Once the show hit, I had a good feeling that T-Bag was gonna be in for a long ride.”
So how did his tongue-flicking mannerisms come about? “I’ll tell you how that happened: it was the first part I played where I had facial hair - the crumb catcher - and it tickled me because I was just getting used to it. If you look at it from the beginning, it was really just me feeling my little whiskers! And then I kind of ran with it and it stuck.”

Robert Knepper Talks ‘Heroes’ Role
July 2, 2009 by Nikki Katz
Robert Knepper recently sat down with Digital Spy to talk about his upcoming role on Heroes!
He reveals that his character is like a young Keith Richards. “He’s kind of my role model for it. I don’t know what the hell I’m doing with the accent - I’m trying to put a little bit of a lilt into it. You don’t know if he’s Irish, you don’t know if he’s English… he should be all-worldly. There’s something about it that screams out British or Irish. I don’t want you to ever pinpoint where he’s from and as soon as you think you’ve got it, I’ll change it! I’m having a ball with it. It’s good to play such a crazy character. It’s kind of like a ‘I don’t care’ rock and roll look.”
It’s another evil character, but Knepper says that he doesn’t play evil characters as evil. He plays them as charming! And he says he hasn’t had to kill anyone yet.
Knepper chats about a scene he filmed recently. “A couple of weeks ago, we shot this huge scene where I’m in a carnival and I’m standing next to this thing where you throw the ball and knock over the milk bottles. It’s supposed to be set in the past, like I time travel back 14 years or so into Japan, so all the actors were Japanese-American.”
How long is he signed on to do the show? “Indefinitely.”

Jodi Lyn O’Keefe Talks Final Break
June 6, 2009 by Nikki Katz
Jodi Lyn O’Keefe recently sat down to chat with Movie Web about her stint on Prison Break, the Prison Break: The Final Break DVD, and her plans for the future!
When asked how it was to work with such an amazing cast of men, Jodi laughs and says that she was nervous when she first walked on set. “I thought this was going to be interesting. It was going to be me, with a gun and a bunch of dudes and I was like, ‘Am I going to be comfortable?’ It turned out that I got there and they were such gentlemen and they were so lovely to me that they made me feel at home right away. There are all these guys asking every minute if you’re thirsty? Do you need a glass of water? Are you OK? Have you eaten today (Laughs). It was the exact opposite of everything that I expected to happen. I was expecting a bunch of stinky, sweaty boys. It was easy. I kind of integrated into the cast really easily. They are amazing to work with. The first couple of weeks on set, I just couldn’t stop smiling. My favorite story to tell is that I got there and it was like, that’s Michael Scofield. That’s not Wentworth Miller. That’s Michael, and I had just this big sh*t-eating grin on my face the entire time. I had to constantly remind myself that, ‘Maybe you shouldn’t smile so much when you’re killing someone” (Laughs). It was an adjustment.”
When it comes to the DVD release of Prison Break: The Final Break, Jodi reveals that she thinks it was always supposed to be after the season finale. “The season finale left you with all these questions, and this two-part show answers them all for you. It’s kind of like a bonus at the end of all of it.” And as for Michael’s death? “I just don’t think anyone in the public is actually going to be convinced that Michael is actually not around.”
As for her current plans, Jodi says that she’s scrambling for work. “I’m trying to find a project that I love and that I’m into and get back in the saddle again. I finished Prison Break and I did a guest star on The Big Bang Theory and it’s been about a month or so, since I’ve stopped working.”
She also says that The Call has not been picked up for 2010, despite what IMDb says!

Wentworth Miller & Robert Knepper on the Series Finale
May 13, 2009 by Nikki Katz

SpoilerTV posted some bits of an interview with Wentworth Miller and Robert Knepper regarding the Prison Break season finale…
Wentworth chats about seeing familiar faces in the finale. “We’re glad to see them. I mean as actors you miss cast members who fall by the wayside for one reason or another and I think that the people we do get to say hello to and catch up with were, were fixtures the first season and second season, people whose presence was felt and was definitely missed after they were gone.”
As for what you can expect during the series finale, Wentworth reveals, “When I think of the last episode I think there were definitely some surprises and some, some, some really electric unexpected moments. Again the show continues to surprise me in that we are a network show but we do things that you’d expect to see on cable, say, and not everyone gets a happy ending and I think some people might be taken aback by that but I think it’s also very true to the story that we’ve been telling all along. In a sense the story can only end one way and I’m really pleased that the writers and the cast and crew and everyone involved in the show have the cajones to really see it through.”

Wentworth talks about the interview process in Hollywood and how actors get the information from their agents about not getting a part. “But we can’t actually talk to the casting director … so I think it’s natural to make up something kind of negative, something that’s going to make you feel bad about yourself - but nine times out of ten you didn’t get the part because you weren’t the right height or they were looking for a different eye color - something you can’t change!”

Wentworth Miller poses in front of a GM China billboard and then answers questions.
“I’d like to change it up a little bit,” Wentworth says about upcoming acting projects. “I’ve been playing Michael Scofield on Prison Break for four years now, which is a long time. I have plans to do a tiny independent film that’s just about a husband and wife. It’s a relationship movie. No prisons, no government conspiracies, no stunts and I think it will be a nice change!”
He also mentions doing a play, perhaps off-Broadway or in London!
Wentworth also chats about enjoying the chance to meet fans across the world. “It’s a tremendously gratifying feeling!”
As for those last two episodes, Wentworth mentions that it is a stand-alone event, “a chance to deepens the show’s mythology … it’s our chance to tie up loose ends and to do honor to the story and the characters and the universe that we’ve spent so much time and effort creating.”
