Prison Break in for 22 Episodes

by Nikki on October 9th, 2008

Ausiello over at EW says that we are pretty much in for the full 22 episodes this season!

He says that two weeks ago, Fox told producer Twentieth Television that they only needed 16 episodes this season instead of the originally-agreed-upon 22.

Twentieth responded to Fox and said that they asked for 22 originally, so they’re getting 22!

thats Awesome no more worring about the season getting axed but I do hope they put prison break back on with 24, thats going to make one heck of a night for tv fans. The SWC is just a dumb show and they need to take it off the air

Well, that’s the end of Prison Break. If FOX is already saying they don’t need (want) to keep PB for the full 22 weeks, they obviousy aren’t going to want it for an additional season.

Unless the ratings skyrocket (by 2million+ viewers), this will be the final season.

Nikki, dont you mean 22 epsidoes. not 33 lol. that would be an interesting season.

Just because they said they responded to fox saying they had 22 doesnt mean fox has to air them. Saying 16 could essentially put the nail in the coffin for this season at episode 16 and mean no more seasons. There is an off chance another network would pick them up ( like what happened to Buffy) but I seriously doubt it.

I just want the story to have a proper ending. If this is it, then lets have a proper ending not a rushed ending. Fox do it right, not rushed

i’m quite optimistic that we’ll get 22 episodes.if not, like other people say ,hopefully we’ll get a proper ending.anyway,in one of the forums i read that now prison break moved place from likely to be cancelled to possible cancelled.it’s not much, but at least it’s safer than before.so fingers crossed everyone

sorry, just want to say, that’s just predictions about how safe is your show,or something. But apparently it was pretty accurate last year.

I really hope that is true. I am really fine with this being the last season as long as each character has closure, and it better not be death for Michael, because then what could sara’s ending be. I just hope the writers can come up with an ending most of the fans like and are happy with

I hope is doesn’t end at 13 episodes or 16 or whatever. That just simply is not enought time to get the rest of the season to unfold properly. They will make it to 22 episodes or DIE!!!

@ TJ.. .I don’t know about you, but to ME 33 episodes sounds GREAT!! LOL ;-) :-P :-P

I mean, the Brothers need / must use *all* the time they have in order to take down The Company succesfully and once and for all, right?? LOL

…And don’t even get me started about Gretchen, T-Bag, Self… .. (hell, maybe even “Shut the F*** Up” Roland, that’s *if* he decides to have a ‘change of heart’ and decided on turning against the Bro’s..)

I hope its 22 eps too, and i’ll be ok if its the last season. (Better if it goes one more though!)

Proper closure isa MUST though, if this is the last season. I, at least, want to see it end with Michael & Sara finaly having dinner together on that Yacht, as it sails off to the sunset. :)

I won’t be pleased with it being the last season. You have to remember, each year is something different, and more twist are added. There is just to much stuff to “close” to even finish in this season. I think Fox needs to come to reality, and understand the success of the show is based on what time slot they put it in. If they change the day, and time of the show to a day where there really isn’t monday night football, dancing with the stars, two and a half men, heroes, and other shows on, I guarantee you the shows ratings will skyrocket.

FOX had better give us at least the whole 22 episodes this year since we were slighted last season with only 13.

I’ll be happy for a proper ending if they decide to end it this season, BUT I’d prefer to get a 5th Season if at all possible. I’m just not ready to give up this amazing show yet!!! PB is the by far the BEST show on TV!!!

Hi!I’ve been reading your site for a while but this is my first post.i’m so happy that PB won’t be cancelled, that would be terrible,we have to have a happy ending for our team, and especially for MiSa :)the other day i was watching the first season and i know what this season is missing-the old Michael, don’t you think?he used to be funny and irresistible and was always trying to help everyone but evertyhing that happened to him seems to have changed him.and even though i love michael and this season,i hope we’ll see that old witty, brilliant, fearless michael soon.tnx for your informations :D

I agree, Michael has changed a lot.. From when they explained that he has ‘low latent inhibition’ and has an attuned sense of the suffering around him. It seems that over the last 2 seasons that’s gone down a bit.. Like when T-Bag captured Michael, Bellick and Trishanne.. Michael wasn’t cooperating and T-Bag grabbed Trishanne and put a gun to her head. She was screaming and was right in front of Michael.. Michael knew what T-Bag was going to do before he even grabbed Trishanne.. But Michael resisted it at first, you know, rushing to the aid of those in need.. He stalled for a while and tried not to care that she had a gun to her head, but ultimately caved in.. He’s still the loving, caring, witty Michael, but his care-factor for others has been deminished.. He’s not as attuned anymore, or simply doesn’t care as much, to the suffering of others around him..
He did, however, notice something was wrong with Mahone at the beginning of the season.. Maybe it’s just towards people he doesn’t know as much.. Like the kid in S1 that he wanted to help but couldn’t, then he committed suicide.. He didn’t know him and he wished he could’ve helped him.. Trishanne he didn’t know either, but he didn’t seem to be as helpful as he would have been in previous seasons..
He also disclaimed to everyone at the beginning that he COULD NOT be responsible for anyone’s lives.. Like he would like to, but doesn’t have the same feel like in S1..
It seems though, that he still does care, even to those he doesn’t know as well. Like roland, he was going to walk away [again, not seeming to care as much about the other lives around him like before when he used to] but Roland wanted him by his side, Michael held his hand and watched him die.. Michael (and especially Lincoln) seemed genuinely concerned about the life of Bellick before he sacrificed himself to keep the team going.. I’m done now.. SRY
