Prison Break Ratings Dropping from Sarah Connor Chronicles?

by Nikki on September 30th, 2008

prison-break-season-3-dom-went-stairs_503.rcf.jpgIt seems that FOX might be blaming the recent drop Prison Break ratings on the Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. And due to that, they may actually pull the plug on Terminator.

According to SyFy Portal, “The network has been disappointed by “Sarah Connor’s” numbers so far this season, and some executives feel that the show is dragging down numbers for “Prison Break,” which airs as a lead-out.

A source for the site says that production will likely stop on the Terminator series and they might even toss out some existing episodes. “They don’t want to lose ‘Prison Break,’ so there could be some schedule shuffling in the future.

What do you think?

Go back to 2005 setup, and stick Prison Break with 24. It was a moronic decision to change that scheduling in the first place.

Do you guys remember how awesome Monday nights were in 2005? Prison Break at 8:00, 24 at 9:00. Fox was king on Mondays.

im up for it. whatever saves my favourite show. i think its funny they blame terminator - it does show they want prison break to stay on the air. if they care enough about pb it will definitely air all 22 episodes.

I feel so relieved.I was so anxious about the ratings and I couldn’t get it.This season is by far better than season 3 and maybe placing it on its original time slot at 8 is the answer for the response the show deserves.Thank you Fox for believing in the show-just like all of us,if I can speak for everyone else and thanks Nikki for the news.

In Bittorrent PB is the first in downloads every week meaning that the time is one reason for not getting high ratings(I hope). Anyway I agree with Matt to bring 24 on Mondays and Fox will get back its ratings!

I like Terminator i hope they don’t cancel it, i don’t think that has got anything to do with PB’s ratings although it’ll be interesting to see if they do cancel if viewers will still tune in despite it being taken off.
You’d think with the MiSa fans on board the ratings would be more than they are, i think it’s interesting that the ratings are down from last year when all the MiSa fans did boycott the show, perhaps there are more PB fans than there are MiSa fans.
To be honest i hope this is the last season, i’m only watching it now to see how it ends, i am liking the whole caper/oceans 11 aspect, but i feel its turning into the Michael and Sara show.
I haven’t seen the new episode yet, but i think i’ve only counted about 2 or 3 scenes between the brothers this season and considering that the main plot of the show in all its seasons is the relationship between the two of them, i hope they improve on it.
Although they do seem to make time this season for a Michael/Sara scene in every episode though.

The ratings for last episode are very disapointing ( 5,23 ) and if all of you Amrican don’t start to watch PB on TV it maybe will be shouted down sooner as everyone of us want . So to all of you watch on TV make your downloads ( to watch again and again) later. You all have the choice .
Don’t let the best show ever go down.

I like PB a lot and i don’t care what they do or whether they blame other shows as long as they leave PB alone. I need PB fix every monday.

    i agree with you Sara,
but the last episode was really good and not really any misa scene…( i am not a misa fan either)
i ‘d like to see more of the brothers too.
but i am glad they say they want to keep the show ( at least for 22 episodes).

T:SCC S1 was quite good … But after seeing those 4 eps of S2 I wonder what they are aiming at … That’s a bit the problem with those shows :/

But it’s a great thing they don’t play PB! :D

BRING BACK 24!!!! IT’S BEEN WAY TOO LONG, 24 AND PRISON BREAK WERE TIGHT TOGETHER!!!
It almost goes without saying, people who watched 24 got hooked on prison break, that sealed a solid 2-hour spot on monday night primetime. (used to) Now that I think about it, Prison Break’s ratings have been going down ever since 24 has been off. But now, they’re bringing a 2-hour special in NOV that will set up Season 7!!! I’M SOO F’N PSYCHED!!! As for Terminator, I just don’t know where they plan on going with it, it needs to go and 24 needs to be on to create the perfect Monday night. Granted, 24 is no Prison Break, we have to admit that the two shows went together like PB and J. (guess which one is which, lol) They’re like the perfect tandem. ALL HAIL 24 AND LONG LIVE PRISON BREAK!!

ITS NOT TRUE MISA FANS DIDNT WATCH S3. IN FACT, MOST OF US DID. THAT WHY WE CALL OURSELVES LOYAL FANS IN SPITE AND DESPITE OF. BLAME IT ON THOSE ANTI-MISA FANS WHO SWORE THAT THEY WOULDNT WATCH PB BECAUSE SARA CAME BACK. NOT THE MISA FANS.

that’s so true g.i like misa but it didn’t stop me from watching season 3 when sarah left.I mean as much as i like misa,i’m a bigger fans of prison break. And to be perfectly honest, they haven’t really spoiled misa fans this season so far.Their scenes together not that much. And i think if people really like prison break, they’ll watch it no matter what.Perhaps some people got bored of it,found other series that they like better.

of course the wont get rid of pb!!! i need it, u need it, we need it, everyone needs it!!! get rid of terminator!!! i dont have a prob with that show but its 4 the greater good!!!

I think a loyal fan should watch all the seasons, wether they like misa or not, and I don’t. I still think the brothers are more important than misa, because I think SWC is a terrible actress, compared to Wentworth. She and Dominic are both bad! I like Michael and T-Bag.

PB is the best TV Show ever!

So people if u really want the show to continue, plzzzzz stop downloading it..Thats y the ratings have dropped..

Really hope that it wont b cancelled!

It will b really a loss for loyal fans like me.

ANyway tv shows like smallville n charmed had lower ratings than 5.23 n the shows went up to 8 seasons!so i dont understand y they r considering that for PB..or is it a rumor only??

    5.23 is not that low!

Isn’t fox a free channel in the USA, over a million pay 20 pound plus(37 dollors) per month for SKY1 on satellite over here in England and for a country the size of us, it’s quite a high percentage, especially whilst it isn’t on terrestrial, and even cable cannot show it due to a long running dispute with satellite, so bearing all this in mind, the show has done remarkably well, however i understand if nobody in the US watches it, or non-least over 8 million, possibility is that the plug will be pulled, and the show will decline, afterall even though subscribers in the UK, and other countries pay to watch the show whereas the yanks don’t, it still isn’t feasible for a company as big as fox to continue with a low rating loser, on prime time Mondays, sad for the rest of the world i know, but thats such as life as we know, America conquors!

Anyone in the US with satellite would have to pay to get any EuroChannels too.. But it seems that Hollywood comes up with the best shows in the world. Gotta give it to them. I only understand that someone download PB if they can’t watch it on TV (they work or something). But for someone who just sits on their computer and downloads shows just because, well that’s a shame, they should stop. FOX is a big network and therefore requires it’s primetime lineup to have more than 7 or 8 million viewers to even consider staying on the air. 24 had solid viewer ratings every year since S3 (which was kinda lame) and is one of FOX’s biggest cash-cows. As is PB. The problem with prison break is that they must create something out of nothing all the time to keep the viewers interested. The problem with that is the fans still love it, but it pushes others potential-viewers away like the show is some proposterous idea. I think that FOX respects the show enough to let it go out with a bang, high-ratings or not. They will let PB leave in style after season 4. Then we will all buy the dvd’s (which fox gets a % of) and live happily ever after. FOX banks hard money off of the DVD sales, so buy-up.

The FOX networks will go out on a limb for there shows, it’s been proven with X-files, 24, and Prison Break.

I love PB…and I’m glad to hear that FOX is going to air the 22 episodes. I agree that it should be 24 and PB on Monday nights. This season is by far much better than season 3 and I don’t understand why the ratings have been so low. I think the downloads have contributed to poor ratings. I read somewhere that it is the number 1 downloaded show. This season has been awesome thus far and I hope that they will allow the show to end properly. I love you Went!

You all know prison break should’ve finished at the end of season 2, but the writers were cowards and changed the last 15 minutes to preserve a cash cow rather than ending a show on a high not when the story was really over.

    Prison Break = sell out.
