Michael’s Strange Abilities

by Nikki on August 19th, 2008

Okay, we all know that Michael Scofield is pretty smart and can definitely plan. But I never pictured him as joining the vast array of television shows with extraordinary powers!!

However it does seem that Michael is unique. Kristin at E!Online spoke with Prison Break producer Zack Estrin and he said, “We do learn a little bit this season why Michael Scofield is so smart. This is not sci-fi, but there is something that is unique about his childhood that leads to why he has the ability to do some of things he can do.

Wonder if it’s all tied into the bloody nose thing?

oo i wonder??!! I just thought he had good brains! But in the first season they did have a flash back on him being kept int the cupboard thats where he’s eye for finer detail came from. The writers must be referring back to that!
Any ideas Nikki what episode that will be?
& whats with the bloody nose bit? I must’ve missed a post! :00

    Hey Tabitha,
I’m having problems with my computer, so I don’t know whether this comment will appear on the screen or not.
Yeah the flashback is 2.12 (Disconnect).
I do like the boy who played young Michael, he’s cute :))
Oh about the bloody nose bit, we were speculating that Michael might be suffering from leukemia, since the brothers’ mum died from that.
I think it’s somewhere in the script snippet post :S

When I read this post I remembered that episode too Tabitha!!
It’s at S2. It’s the one when he meets his father! I think it’s ‘Bolsoi Booze’!
Maybe that’s what Sara and Michael’s doctor will find out about him! We have read about it at an other post!

Maybe when he thinks a lot he has nosebleeds! lol! :p

“Wonder if it’s all tied into the bloody nose thing?”

I cant see any possible relation, even remotely credible …

I instantly remembered an episode in the 2nd season where Michael was a kid locked up in a cupboard by his stepdad i think and he began studying furniture with sharp details.

Oh thanks Nikki putting up this image up of Went.
That was the one i favoured out of all the vegas pics. Remember? :)

Wait! I dont understand. I thought season 1 all ready covered why Michael was so smart. He had low latent inhibition. Doesn’t anyone remember the episode where Sarah goes to see Michaels psychologist?

Yeah these “abilities” must be related to LLI. The nose bleeding may be or meean everything

  • lacausa
    Aug 19, 2008 at 2:14 pm

i got the clue!!! ok, I had this theory a long time ago… but after reading this i’m quite sure!!! so the it has sth. do to with his LLI, because that’s why he is so clever! We know about this keeping Michael in the darkness stuff… so there must be something else!

Well LLI can be caused by your genes… damn… sounds stupid, but if you don’t have the “ability” of suffering from LLI in your genes you simply can’t suffer from it…
    so:

    1. Michael has defect genes! Maybe(!)… i’ll come to that later on!

having it in your genes doesn’t make you suffer from it… you also need a lot of influences from the outside… ok, we all remember this flashback scene were michael was kept in the dark as a child by someone of the company…

    2. Company knew he could suffer from LLI if you keep him in the dark too long!

ok… there’s something else… you don’t need to have defect genes to get LLI… high levels of the neurotransmitter dopamine (or similar stuff) can also leed to LLI…
the company knew about the fact he could have LLI, because they kept him in the dark. so they knew he got this meds! why?

    3. The Company gave Michael a lot of meds!

Now remember this strange research facility were padman was! it was at the end of Season 2… someone told padman that Michael is in Sona, but that he will break out! Padman said something like Michael has to do this. I don’t remember exactly… someone got a quote?

    4. Research Facility + Michael + Meds OR defect genes = LLI

If you think that’s strange look at what Estrin said: “This is not sci-fi, but”… Do I need to explain this?????

    What do you think?

    P.S. Sorry about my english!

No worries - I deleted the 2nd post for you :)

  • Jody6055
    Aug 19, 2008 at 3:39 pm

Yeah I want to know what that research facility thing was all about. Its my guess though that its just Pad-Mans second job, I dont think it has anything to do with the story line.

  • Ashleigh
    Aug 19, 2008 at 4:45 pm

Okay I think I may have missed something about this story line, and what I’m about to ask may sound stupid: What does LLI stand for?
    Sorry.

@Jody6055- to your above comment on the 1st season episode with Sara seeing Michaels phychologist, thats the one i was referring too! I thought i was right in thinking that! Thanx hunny thought i’d got it wrong for a moment! :0)
I knew in the 2nd we had a flash back when he met his father, but that was to do with his foster father, nothing about his eye for finer detail. It was in the first season that we learnt whilst he was locked away he became accute!

@lacausa- wow thanx for all that, very good thinking! & i think you might be very right!
