Director’s Take
Sammy Dies:
Director Michael Switzer takes us through Sammy’s death and 100s of pounds of sand! Sammy has taken power from Lechero. Laurence Mason speaks about his character (and with a completely different accent!)
We see the avalanche pouring down on the stunt double. Mason says that he likes the death scene because nobody kills him and the death is out of left field, very surprising.
William Fichtner watches the preparation for the sand drop and says the only thing he hopes is that his shower is working in the trailer, because he’s about to get dirty!
Discussion Points:
- Do you like the manner in which Sammy died?
- Do you wish Sammy would have stayed around a bit longer?

Hello Nikki, how are you today?
The answers to your discussion points:
I agree with Laurence Mason’s take on Sammy’s death.
Yes, I wish Sammy would have stayed around a little longer.
@Sierra, Tabitha and Mahmuda, hello!
How are you guys doing?
Aw. I remember watching this clip when it was online on the Fox site.
Yay William! So awesome.
Er. Yeah. I never liked Sammy that much. I guess I liked the way he died, since Michael was supposed to have “killed for the first time”, and I didn’t want that to be hand-ons, you know? I don’t think I’m making any sense. Sorry.
Fichtner is so awesome.
Nobody saw the death coming? Oh please. Mason’s name disappeared from the credits, the ep was called ‘Dirt Nap’, the summary of the episode said that the escape was going to “come crashing down”… 2 + 2 + 2 = 6, *Laurence*.
The new accent is interesting to see, though.
I am not so sure.. I mean, if I’d have to choose between Laurence “Sammy” Mason and Robert “Lechero” Wisdom, then I’d pick SAMMY any day .. .
I [recently] saw this movie on tv, called “The Heisat”, which consisted Robert Wisdom and Ice-T .. That was one of the few movieis, where I actually liked him .. Like I said … “I am not so sure” ..
BTW; if anyone knows or doesn’t know the movie I just mentioned .. It was a “Straight-to-Video” ..
i see what you’re saying Jane, i agree
