Director’s Take

Car Crash:
Director Vince Misiano chats about trying to get as close as possible to the writer’s vision and imagination. He believes that the writers have a gift of plot and momentum … driving forward. So they drive one car right into another!! In this episode the bad guys are in a van getting away. They’ve got LJ and Lincoln thinks his son is going to be taken away from him. Suddenly Sucre pulls out in another car and the van crashes right into him.

The show has a Picture Car Coordinator that preps and paints the cars – along with setting them up with special effects. They also reuse the cars throughout the season.

Amaury chats about liking to do his own stunts. “I’m an adventerous guy. I’m an extremist,” he says.

Discussion Points:

  • Would you ever do your own stunts?

  • Do you think it’s strange that there are different directors for many of the episodes?

Yes I would like to do my own stunts.
As long as they are not too risky.
Yes I do think it’s strange that they have so many directors, particularly in Season 1.
However I found myself enjoying episodes that are directed by Kevin Hooks and Nelson McCormick especially.
Not a big fan of Bobby Roth.
    Except episode 2:15.
Vincent Misiano is ok, he directed 2:20 which was ‘Panama’.
    I loved that episode.
As for Season 1, I loved Guy Ferland, Greg Yaitanes, Vern Gillum, Sergio Mimica-Gezzan and of course Brett Ratner.
