Director’s Take

T-Bag:
Director Karen Gaviola takes us behind the scenes as T-Bag helps to save Sister Mary Frances. T-Bag has to incur the wrath of Lechero as he takes the blame for stealing money. Robert Knepper chats about the scene and how his character has to deal with degradation in order to climb the prison ladder. This includes a punch to the stomach!! Robert talks about having to react to something fake (like a punch), and yet make it look real. Karen talks about how the original scene called for Lechero kicking T-Bag in the head once he’s on the ground, but they decided that Lechero’s character is so menacing and that the scene didn’t need the additional contact

Discussion Points:

  • Was it out of character for T-Bag to help out Sister Mary Frances?

  • Do you think it’s helpful to character growth to see the different sides of T-Bag?
  • Do you think the fight scenes are believable?

One of the weakest scenes in Prison Break, and the weakest episode so far..sorry:) but seriously, nobody cares about T-Bag’s feelings to some stranger…

I don’t think in this point of T-Bag’s life that he only has a few sides not many. His main focus has always been what is best for himself or benefits his interests most. I don’t believe he helped her to be kind or the fact she is a woman & he doesn’t like to see women being abused. He did it because she has access to the outside & it might benefit him on down the line. Yes most of the fights scenes look pretty real or at least for TV. lol
