Danay Garcia Interview!

Danay Garcia recently chatted with RELOAD Magazine about her background, her love of acting, and (of course) Prison Break!!
Danay chatted about her being picked for the role of Sofia for Prison Break Season 3. “Oh, it was very interesting,” she says. “I got a call from my manager that Prison Break is looking for new female actors. I got really excited because it’s a show that I really liked and I loved the idea that I might be able to be part of it. I went to 4 auditions. I worked really hard to make to make the character of Sofia very interesting.”
Danay also hopes that her character will be an integral one in Season 4. “The one thing about TV is that we don’t know what is going to happen until we get the script,” she relates. “The writers are very smart and they are as passionate as actors are. They are working really hard to keep making the story interesting and exciting. So let’s see what happens.”
And as for life after Prison Break? Danay hopes to get another great project, either in TV or Features.
Danay has definitely fought her way up to her current role. Before acting she was born and raised in Cuba. She just moved to the United States four years ago and learned English. “I am just a normal girl that loves to act and fight for her dreams and believes that I can make it happen. I am from Cuba, born and raised and I came to this country 4 years ago. I knew I was doing the right thing by following my dreams and I won’t stop. Before I started acting, I was a dancer. I danced ballet for 13 years. My life was around performing and making people believe a story thru dance and that was fun for me!!!!”
Danay is currently living in Los Angeles with her son. She is also in a relationship. “It feels great to come home and always feel loved. That always inspires me to achieve something in life.”
As for Danay’s ultimate role, she says that there isn’t a specific type that she wants to play. “It all depends on the script. I like the audience to see me the in a diverse range.”

It will be interesting to see what they do with her character, Linc likes her. I think since Sara in coming back her role won’t be as important. I would rather see LJ has a bigger role in Linc’s life than Sofia.

Danay’s character is despensible.
The audience has no emotions to her. Like dogloverkid said, i’d much rather see LJ than Sofia.

I’d rather see Linc and LJ in more scenes together! I don’t really care for Sofia. For some reason the character reminds me of a cornered little bunny in a lion’s den.
More L&L in S4!
wtf?

Good to know that I am not the only one who thinks she is a redundant character. Agree whole-heartedly on the father & son bonding. I like LJ too!

Well, I think I agree with you guys, Sofias roll isn’t really that important to the show and I dont really care if she’s in it for next season or not. Though it might be good to have her hanging around the streets if they somehow come up with something like they did last season, when they killed Sara to make it “the highlight of the season”, maybe if there’s a next time they wont kill someone with a leading roll, that so many people likes on top of it, I mean, it’s still something that rappes the story up, and that’s what they want right?
