More on Sarah Wayne Callies’ Return to Prison Break Season 4

by Nikki on March 27th, 2008

Kristin (from Watch with Kristin at E!Online) had the chance to chat with Matt Olmstead regarding Sarah Wayne Callies’ return to Prison Break 4!! Lucky duck.

Some key points:

  • We’ll get to find out what happened to Dr. Sara via some fast-paced flashbacks.

  • Michael and Sara will get some lovin’.
  • Season 4 is planned to be 22 episodes.
  • There will be some myseries to solve.
  • They are still contemplating Prison Break: Cherry Hill.

Here’s the interview:

I’m so glad to talk to you about this because we literally get floods of emails about Sarah Wayne Callies and her character Sara Tancredi. “Sara, Sarah, save our doctor, oh my god we miss her so much,” so there’s some seriously happy people out there right now.
Good.

Sarah Wayne Callies, the actress will be back, but does that mean Dr. Sara Tancredi be back? Is it really her evil twin? What is this all mean?
No, she’s the real deal. Sara Tancredi is back.

And it’s in the present day? It’s not a season entirely in flashback—she’ll walk in the door, and she joins the story in progress?
Season four is jumping-forward, hit-the-ground-running storytelling. But we are dropping back, in flashback, and explaining how the characters got to where they are and the situation with her, certainly.

So by the middle of the season you’ll be caught up, story-wise?
We’ll be caught up sooner than that. It’s not like a 50/50 thing where it’s half present-day, half in flashback. The flashbacks are much more economical, and you’ll get it fairly quickly. There are some mysteries that we’re going to extend out, but it’s not going to be the bulk of the season.

Now, internally are you planning season four as a 22-episode season?
Yes.

As I said, we’ve gotten emails galore about Sara(h), and I’m sure you’ve gotten a few of your own. Was this decision made because the fans were so vociferous about how much they wanted her back? Or had this been part of your overall plan for the character? How did this come about?
It wasn’t because of the fans that we did that, but it was the combination of the fans’ reactions on the boards and emails, and people we, the writers, know personally would ask about it. And that led us all to have conversations internally, about the fact that there were a lot of people out there asking, “Is she really dead?”

We knew internally that when we didn’t get Sarah Wayne Callies to come back in season three and be there to portray her character’s death, as soon as it was written and filmed and we saw it on screen, we knew that it was actually a way you could describe how this wasn’t Sarah’s head in the box, basically. But at that point, we were going forward with other stories, so we kind of put that on the back burner.

But throughout that time we watched how people externally were really talking about what we thought might be the case, internally: The question of, “Is Sara Tancredi really dead?” So throughout season three we were mindful of references we’d make to and who took credit for killing her and all kinds of stuff regarding her death.

Ultimately, we came back after the strike to talk about season four, and that’s when a bunch of things kind of came together, and we then had the big conversation. Is Sarah really alive and can we bring her back? And once we opened it up, it happened really quickly.

How did Sarah Wayne and Wentworth feel about this?
Wentworth is abroad promoting the show and I sent him an email, I have yet to hear back from him, I’m sure he’s going to very excited about it, but in terms of Sarah Wayne…Initially, the way these things work, there has to be an offer first, so once our pitch about how the Sarah character would be a part of the season was approved and met enthusiastically, the offer went out. And once the offer was on the table, that’s when Sarah Wayne and I spoke, and I told her what I had in mind creatively, because what we have in mind is something she can definitely sink her teeth into creatively.

IIt’s not just you pick her back up, and she’s there as the loyal girlfriend and “Michael, go do your thing, and I’ll be waiting for you when I get back.” Again, we’re jumping forward story-wise. There will be a bit of a mystery period where we cover what happened. It becomes about Michael trying to figure out what happened to her. It’s his attempt to reclaim her, and her trying to figure out what happened and dealing with it. So laying all that out to Sarah, the actress, she liked that, and so she slept on it, and then we made a deal.

The end of season three seemed to imply that season four would have something to do with Michael avenging Sarah’s murder. How does her return change any plans you had and what can you tell us about season four?
You know, the strike through a wrench into things in that there was no back nine for us, telling about all those stories, so we were asked to go right to a season four, instead of just picking up moments later, we took that opportunity to be ambitious about it, so we’re jumping ahead picking up down the road. There’s a fresh aspect to it, but there’s a mystery aspect to it.

How did these people get there? How is that person talking to this person? And then we’re dropping back and answering those questions, so it becomes about slowly discovering how Sarah got back, how Michael found her, those type of things.

If Sarah’s back, will there finally be some romance and maybe some sex for Sarah and Michael?
Yes! They are finally together, but like I said there have always been these physical barriers between them. He was incarcerated, she worked in the prison hospital, so obviously there’s a barrier. He was on the run, she was in another part of the country, there’s a barrier.

Here they are finally able to be together, but we are jumping ahead [in time], so there’s that period that’s unaccounted for, so what happened to her, what happened to him and hope they both help each other get past that, get past these…invisible barriers.

There’s no physical barriers anymore between them, but they’re both pretty banged up when they see each other, and it’s about how they get past that to really find that real intimacy.

So they’re not necessarily living together in suburbia with a dog and a baby, but they reconnect and we’re sort of watching them get to know each other again?
I mean it’s Prison Break, so they’re all still trying to clear their names avoid jail time avoid death and so there’s still that locomotive feel to it, storytelling-wise, and while that’s going on on, on the fly, these two people are trying to save each other.

I know the women’s prison spinoff was under consideration for a while. Is that still something you’d think you’d want to do?
Very much so. We’re working on a script, but right we’re focused on season four Prison Break, and then we’ll spin that off.

Good news! But only if they don’t create another plot hole in bringing her back.

And, I hope they don’t ignore the rest of the cast dynamics….brothers, mahone, and the conspiracy.

But, over all I’m thrilled at the news. The only better news is if we could go back in time and do season 3 correctly from the start…but that can’t happen so focusing on a better plot for s4 will do. :)

This is great!!! Without Sara PB was an alright show. So I during the first episodes in Season 4, Michael will meet Molly and develop a connection with her and all of a sudden Sara shows up and Michael is torn between these two women.

Do you remember (or if you are too young, do you recall tales about)the TV show, “Dallas”? Specifically, do you remember or have you heard stories about how, after becoming a television phenomena, a ratings block buster and a show that had an entire nation, if not an entire planet, asking the question, “WHO SHOT JR?”, it declined into nothing but a laughing stock, a bad joke, and a show that EVERYONE made fun of and nobody watched anymore when they decided to “bring Bobby (one of the main characters they had KILLED OFF)back” by making the entire season where he was dead a DREAM????!!!YES! Pam (his long suffering wife) awakes from a DREAM to find Bobby–perfectly alive and healthy–stepping out of the shower, and the entire previous season that had shown him being killed by a car hitting him and Pam going crazy with grief, was written off as an afternoon nap nightmare!

Now,do you remember or do you recall tales of what a BAD idea that was? Do you recall how the vast majority of thinking viewers, even ones who loved the character of Bobby and missed him, stopped watching because the ‘dream’ plot was just, well…too ridiculous for words?

Well, welcome to my nightmare. My favourite show on TV has just become the new “Dallas”!

Let me just say right now, if I had a gun, you’d ALL know EXACTLY who shot Matt Olmsted! Does HE not remember what a BAD idea that was for Dallas and how it basically DESTROYED the show? Does he not see that is about to do the same shit to “PRION BREAK”?!

    Somebody stop the madness PLEASE!!

You know, I know that PB isn’t exactly the most believable show on TV, and I know its suppossed to be a comic book story and yaddayaddayadda…but BRING SARA BACK?? NOW?? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?? That’s insulting, even to the Sara fans. I mean, the writers just spent almost a FUCKING YEAR telling us Sara was DEFINEATELY dead. So, now they say they always had the idea of ‘possibly bringing her back’….really? “Cause that ain’t what it sounded like to me–so you were either lying then or you’re lying now and either way, I don’t like being lied to!

Its so obvious that they wanted to kill her off, and do it in a shocking way that left no room for negotiation–fair enough But then, at least have the BALLS to stick to your guns when the going gets tough. Now they try to say that they always thought that they might bring Sara back at some point–I call BULLSHIT!If they had any idea of bringing Sara back, they wouldn’t have made her end in such a graphic and detailed way. I mean, Lincoln saw her head! LJ heard her die! Were they both delusional? If you want to ‘leave the door open’ for a character’s return then you kill them off in a less conspicious way…ie–Kellerman. You don’t chop their head off and show it to us and THEN expect us to buy some lame ass excuse as to ‘why it wasn’t really her head’…COME ON!

Its an obvious attempt to get old viewers back who stopped watching after Sara died, but will they really come back at this late stage? They have missed half a season! TV viewers aren’t that loyal. I know I’m not…for instance, I used to watch “Desperate Housewives”, but when I went on a long overseas holiday last year I missed, like 7 episodes, and you know what, I never went back to watching it again! Too much time had passed and I just didn’t care about the characters anymore. Now, I’m not saying everyone is like me, but I think some people are, and if they tuned out in October, I doubt they’d tune back in nearly a year later, even if Sara does come back. If the writers want to improve the ratings then they should write decent stories!

Maybe SWC wanted back in when her movie career tanked after “Whisper” went straight to DVD and she needs some cash. Afterall, that’s what happened with the guy who played Bobby on Dallas, Patrick Duffy. He left to be a movie star, didn’t get anywhere and came crawling back. That was why Dallas writers came up with the whole “It was a dream” debacle…and now PB is walking into that same trap. If that’s what happened, and I was the producer of PB, I’d tell SWC to go fuck herself…but that’s me. And I swear if I was one of the writers and they told me to write this shit, I’d quit. Talk about sacraficing art on the alter of commercialism! I mean, I know PB isn’t exactly Shakespeare, but it had an edge and one of the edges was that you never knew when/if a major character would die. The stakes were high…now that has been completelt ruined because we now know that if a character is killed off and ratings go down as a result, they will just find a way to bring that character back, so the tension and dramatic edge to the show has been completely destroyed. Nice work, Fox!

And WEntworth Miller? He’s ALL over Europe last week telling fans that Sara is “defineately dead”….so he’s either the best liar or he was in the dark about all of this. I mean he’s running around saying how Michael’s happy ending went out the window with Sara’s death and now he’s going to go all dark and vengeful…”That’s where season four lives and breathes for me now.”

So,guess that’s all out the window then! what happens now that she’s alive? is he going to just ride off in the sunset with her and live happiily ever after? Where does season four live and breathe with you now, Mr. Miller??Does he or his agent even know what an asshole he looks like now? Like he either lied in every single interview last week or he’s so out of the loop creatively that he might as well be a member of The Monkeys, just pretending to play the instruments and lip-synching the words to songs written by somebody else?

1.)If he was lying, then I think that is VERY disrespectful to his fans. If he was asked about Sara, he could have said something politely like, “I don’t really want to talk about her” or whatever. he didn’t have to lie and say she was most certainly dead!

2.)And if he wasn’t lying and the producers kept him in the dark about bringing Sara back, then I think that shows a total lack of respect for their main leading actor, and if I was WM I’d be PISSED:”You make me go to Europe and Israel and say one thing when you know that a week later you are going to make me look like an ass for saying it? Yeah, thanks guys!Great working relationship we have–real professional respect!”

And what about respect for the fans who stuck with thiis show, after Sara left. The writers are so desperate to please fans who left the show, but about the ones who stayed? WE are the reason the show wasn’t cancelled, not the people who stopped watching! I for one, never liked the whole Sara/Michael thing ( and no, its not because I want Michael to be a gay homosexual and have lots of gay homosexual sex with Agent Mahone!!). I never liked it because I never saw PB as a romantic show. Its a show about prison and revenge and violence and redemption, but not about romance. I never saw, nor do I see, a need for a romantic interest for ANY of the main characters.

I always thought when Sara came on screen in season two, “Oh, God…here we go…slow down the action and crank up the soppy, sentimental music!” Sara was an important part of season one, but by the end of season two, I totally wanted her out and I think it would have been perfect if she had died at the end of season one from that overdose. She didn’t seem to me a necessary character anymore— and now they expect me and millions like me to jump through all these hoops of suspending my disbelief to bring back a marginal character who never interested me in the first place?

You know what, they may get a few old Sara-loving viewers back with this move, but they have JUMPED THE SHARK and will lose many more viewers as a result. Fans don’t like being treated like they are stupid.

The ONLY person I feel sorry for in any of this is William Fichtner. That man is an acting God, and he desrves to be on a show that is alot better than PB. Hopefully, (and I can’t believe I’m saying this), Mahone will be killed off early in season four and won’t have to stick around and watch PB become a total joke.

I can see where PB is heading because I’ve seen it all before with Dallas–and its no where good. I can already imagine the jokes at the water coolers all over America the day after they ‘bring Sara back’.

“OH, Michael, it was all a DREAM!”

“Look, Sara was just in the shower all along, Mikey!”

“Look, the tin man is really Sucre! The scarecrow is really Lincoln! The lion is really just….LJ?? And, you know, the wizard was always Alex Mahone…it was just a bad dream, Dorothy…I mean, Michael!”

    AGHHHHH!!!

God, right now, I am embarrassed to say I am a fan…I might not be for much longer….somebody kill me before September. And don’t worry, if I don’t like being dead, I’m sure that those idiots over at Fox can figue out a way to bring me back to life!

Give me a break. This show has totally jumped the shark! I won’t be watching anymore. What is this, “Dallas”–oh, it was all a dream!

We saw her head. Lincoln saw her head. LJ heard her die. Did we all imagine it or dream it? This show just said goodbye to the last shred of credibility that it had. The writers are so worried about the Sara fans that they forget there are many fans out there who don’t care about Sara AT ALL, and kept watching even when she was gone. Those fans are currently outraged by this turn of events, and will probably tune out. I know I will. Nice going, FOX! You have managed to reduce what was once a failry decent show to the level of a daytime soap opera! They always bring back dead characters on shows like “Another World” or “Days of Our Lives”…but I thought PB had more class then that. Guess I was wrong!

Sarah Wayne Callies must be desperate for money to accept this sad, sad offer. And the writers are stupid if they think that they can write a satisfying return for her. Her head was in a box for God’s sakes. We all saw it. What, was it not really her head? Then how come Lincoln seemed convinced that it was–doesn’t he know what she looked like? This sounds to me like a sad attempt to raise their ratings, but I fear it will fail. Who would watch this crap? I won’t and I am not the only fan who feels this way!

If I was Wentworth Miller, I’d quit! They send him a lousy email to inform that they are about to turn his show into a joke? He’s the star and he’s been out promoting the show for the last two weeks all over the world and he’s been interviewed dozens of times and he always said that Sara was definetely dead. Now, this new announcement makes him look like he was either lying to his fans last week, or he is completely out of the loop creatively. Either way, the producers and writers of the show have disrespected their star. If I was him, I’d be pissed.

AND STOP DELETING MY POSTS JUST BECAUSE I AM DISAGREEING WITH THE TONGUE BATHERS HERE WHO WANT SARA BACK! I HAVE THE RIGHT TO AN OPINION AND HAVE A RIGHT TO POST IT!

“Hey, Gwen Paltrow, your agent called. He said he wants you to sign up for the sequel to ‘Se7en’ You have to call him.”

“What? I died at the end of that film. My head was in a box! How can I be in the sequel if I’m dead?”

“The sequel’s being written by those idiots who write for Prison Break.”

“Oh…I see. Well, guess I better call my agent back then.”

  • Carolyn Morton
    Mar 28, 2008 at 9:54 pm

I am not just a fan. I am someone who has watched this show from the start, goes to all the message boards and even writes fan fiction about it. Up until this announcement, I was so psyched for season 4….now, don’t even think I will be watching it. How can they bring Sara back? She was dead. I am very disappointed in the writers and in the show’s producers. And I hope Wentworth Miller really didn’t know last week when he was giving all those interviews and saying that Sara was dead for sure. I hope he wouldn’t lie to his fans so blatantly…but the writers have always lied to us with this show, haven’t they? “Sarah’s preganancy won’t affect her being on the show” and then “Sarah will be back, but she’s taking a leave of absence” and then “Sarah is not coming back. and her character is dead.” and now “Sara is coming back. She’s alive.”

For me, as a fan, it comes down to respect. You don’t lie to people if you truly respect them. You don’t keep changing the story and expect people to believe you. You don’t continually and habitually mislead your fanbase.I, for one, am tired of being lied to by the people who create this show. I’m done. I won’t be watching anymore, and that makes me sad because I really liked this show, but this whole Sara thing has been mishandled from the moment she got pregnant.

I totally respect those who disagree with me, and those who will keep watching, but those are my feelings and I just wanted to say them.

fox has made a good decision. i can understand all the scepticist fans, but would you really like to see michael unhappy and desperate..? he could kill susan, whistler or whoever you want. is this a solution? and what? there’s no future in this case.

it won’t be a soap show with sara, i’m sure. but michael will have a better motivation than revenge. and i like that. thank you fox.

I’m total agree with you “ac”.
I was already convinced that she was dead and suddenly they drop this. I love it.
My feelings about motivation revenge are the same.
Even now I value more season three despite I used to be skeptical about it.
I sure that the writers and actors will make a great new season.
I’m looking forward to watch it.
Now it will be hope, faith and thrill.
    Let’s enjoy.

i do not get why some “fans” of the show do not want sara back.

we all love sara, and if you are a fan, then you know how important sara is to michael. why are we going to rob him of this joy? his expressions and his over-all mood changes when sara’s around. and its obvious that they have on-screen chemistry. and if you try to search around the web for sites regarding saving the good doctor, you will notice that there are really a lot of people who believe in their romance.

yes, we all know it is a story about 2 brothers, and family, and escaping from a prison. but for sara and michael’s love and hate relationship to be noticed that much, it could only mean that they do very good acting because we like it! we like that he flirts with his doctor every time, we like it that he tried to incorporate sara into the escape plan and meet up with her in Gila, we like that he cried and mourned when Linc told him that sara’s dead..

we followed michael through his ups and downs with sara… so why can’t we just be happy for them? :)

i liked sara, and was sorry to watch that episode where she was killed. but i just cant see how this is meant to work. ok, the head coulddd be someone elses (though unlikely) but LJ was NEXT to her, he heard her scream, susan kept saying she did kill her, and michael was given the paper crane she owned…!
how on earth can they bring her back in a logical and convincing way?

terrenece steadman was believed dead yet was alive, michaels dad returned suprisingly, nick savrinns dad was secretly still alive, and now they want to bring sara back…kellerman too, someday? sure, i love the characters. but they should not have killed her in the first place. and since they did, they shouldnt try bringing her back this way….very unrealistic.

i understand the people who are just so glad shes back again. im just worried what it does to the plot now….they should just have let it be. there are so many other storylines they could have followed too (i was looking forward to seeing how michaels character would change trying to get revenge for sara, and how susan may be scared and all that…) oh well….

Now that’s GREAT .. That’s JUST GREAT .. So now, while they’re at it, they might as well bring back Abruzzi, Bill Kimmy, Tweener, (when he’s done his time), Haywire, Lechero, Veronica, Aldo, Roy [Geary], Elliot Pike [Company-member], Terrence Steadman, Frank Tancredi [her father], Daniel Hale, Seth Hoffner [committed suicide, on the 1st Season], Quinn, Nick [Savrinn, the lawyer / attorney; WHAT EVER the “right name” is], Lisa Rix [L.J.’s mother, who got murdered, also on the 1st Season], Charles Westmoreland, the father of Sasha Murray [he was killed by Haywire, on the 2nd Season], Erik Stammel, [the psych, who got murdered by T-Bag], General Zavala, Agent Blondie, Sammy, Sapppo, Augusto, Ceo, andrew tyge, Papo, Nieves, Christo Ball, Wyatt [got killed by Lechero; Lechero drowned him], Octavio, Cyrus ..

LOL….good point there man, you’ve sure been doing your resaearch on who has died in the first 3 seasons. If your going to complain about it just stop watching the darn show. Its an awsome show, i agree the idea of bringing her back is a lillte “different/corny” but i have hope they’ll make it out to be good. it will be interesting to see how they’re gonna get away with this one. To be honest though, after watching season one again recently… I feel the past two seasons don’t even come close. Season one is in a total class of its own.

    OH MY GOD!!
Really is this true and is it necessary to bring back Sara who is apparantly dead and headless??
I just can’t believe what i’m hearing. The audience which are us are full of questions, now that the writers and producers of Prison Break are gonna have to answer.
Personally i think she shouldn’t return because whatever Michael is doing is gonna get him killed for her revenge.

As unrealistic as this turn of events may seem, I’m happy Sarah’s coming back. I’ve been a devoted fan of Michael/Sara since season 1 and I have faith that the writers will do a brilliant job writing her back in. Also, I read a lot of posts when Sara was first killed off and there were a lot of people who were saying that because some of us weren’t going to watch the show anymore because she was killed - that we weren’t true fans of the Prison Break - and now you guys are doing the exact same thing, saying you’re not going to watch it anymore because she’s back. If we’re true fans then we should just support the writers/show no matter what they do and stop complaining about it because there’s no way their always going to please everyone. I still watched when Sara was killed, as pissed off as I was - why can’t some of you just accept that the writers want her back and think they can do some creative stuff with her character. And for those of you who don’t think SWC has any talent I disagree but respect your opinion - I’m also really curious to know what you think of Danay Garcia. I think she was the worst thing to happen to this show!

    Mar 31, 2008 at 5:56 am

hmmh, i actually liked danay garcia. i thought she acted her role well….

and im sorry, i disagree a true fan is one to be happy with whatever is done to the show…
i love the show, really, but that since it was often realistic or mostly made sense. saras death was possible, and though very sad that it occured, it was nothing unimaginable. bringing her back after the “real” head was put in a box, a witness (LJ) was there, and gretchen was unable to provide a live photo of her for lincoln that one time just seems impossible… maybe they will bring her back well… im not saying i wont watch season 4, but i dont have high hopes for it.

    Mar 31, 2008 at 6:24 am

Since when has PB been REALISTIC? The writers completely bashed the shows idea of having a little faith.

While i understand that the writers are walking a fine line between greatness and stupidity, i suppose they had to weigh up this:

did we kill the show more by undermining the main themes of the show by killing sara, or by bringing that theme back?

As long as the writers do it well, then it will be great. This is closure, cold, hard closure. No more if, buts or what-ifs about sara’s ‘death’.

    Great news [potentially] :]

    Mar 31, 2008 at 6:38 am

i hope they dont take too long drawing out the explanation for the ‘unknown time’ in their lives. That would be just painful, un-PB-ish, and dull.

I really want a return to form; a fast paced, intelligent, season 1 standard of show. That’s what PB is about, not too much sex or shallow crap.

I dont want another washed out excuse of a season. C’mon writers!

I’m really shocked by all of these people who “never liked sara” or who think that FOX and the writers of Prison Break are stupid. I mean some of you people act surprised that this would happen…I mean its Prison Break with a crap load of twists, turns, and shocks! It’s always kinda been a soap opera in the fact that each episode pretty much leaves you pondering about the next one…which all soap operas usually do. Unlike Ghost Whisperer(where you know it will just be a different ghost, new episode).
I was really disappointed with season 3, so I’m really stoked about this next season. All of these whiny “ex-prison break” fans just seem like a bunch of fair-weather fans to me. I mean it’s out of your hands, get over it!!!!!! Just let them do their job, you might actually like the result!
And these people that feel betrayed by prison break. OMG are you really serious….give em a chance…after you see season 4 then you can bash all you want. But don’t act like you know it all, before the show even starts.
I mean I was really disappointed when they “killed” sara..but I’m still a fan and would of continued to watch it anyways(because I’ve always been a REAL prison break fan.

wow, erin calm down heh :) i (and others) are just saying that this doesnt seem like the best plot to pursue. of course it is out of my hands what the writers decide, and of course ill still watch season 4 and be glad if it does prove to be great (maybe even as great as the first season) i was just saying my opinion so far…

so lets just wait and see what it will be like… :)

a lot of you do not have faith in the writers/producers of this show. by now, we should be used to the MAJOR TWISTS and TURNS that makes prison break the most unorthodox show on the planet.
and bringing sara back seems to fit that category, dont you think?

we love sara, come on, admit it. at one point you actually felt bad she died.

and now she’s back, we are grateful! :)

I was watching season 1 again, and they would have to do something really great to even come close to that. I can’t wait for her to come back, MiSa fan all the way. I also think it might help rating, but the story would have to be really creative to come close to season 1, when their rating were really good.

“So… Sarah and Michael were never able
to have the time together they both so longed for, and deserved.
But what sense of hope,or satisfaction, could a spectator derive from an ending like that?
So, in the film, they wanted to give Sarah
and Michael what they lost out on in life (for many men…).
I’d like to think this isn’t weakness or evasion,
but a final act of kindness.
    Their happiness is granted finally.

Sara i’ll have to agree with you. Before anyone starts having a go. I loved Dr Tancredi she was a fantastic character to the storyline, but to suddenly bring her back, when LJ heard her scream & that! All i’m hoping is that they don’t make it all too soppy, for me that would a little boring. I wanna see Michael bring down the company ( & of course to see him happy!)!! I don’t know…. as others have said PB has been sure brilliant twists & turns. I just hope the writers come up with something good for the storyline, as i’m sure they will, as PB has been sure brilliance all the way through!

  • Erin
    Apr 1, 2008 at 8:15 am

lol sara i respect your opinion. I know I directed my comments to a variety of people dissing PB. But I mainly am agitated at “ex-prison break fans” I guess I have a good imagination, so the fact that sara is coming back doesn’t bother me in the slightest. I mean Buffy came back to life twice and that series went on forever! I also never fully believed she was really dead in the first place. On one of the blogs I listed several reasons why sara could still be alive. LJ said he heard her…well i would imagine that anyone getting their head chopped off might sound the same. And we got to remember how lincoln faked all of those gun shots with the tape recorder in the 3rd season…that could of been a similar situation with LJ. And anyone can find a look al like head for a box. It’s the company they are capable of anything. But anyways all my reasonings can be found under one of the blogs that corresponds with people venting about sara’s “death”. Have a good day MiSa and REAL prison break fans!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Erin
    Apr 3, 2008 at 5:36 am

Well I’m sure she probably saw on the news what happened to Tweener, but unfortunately they made him look like he was the bad guy in the reasoning for him getting shot by Mahone. So yeah that is sad that she might never know the real truth behind him. And poor Scofield probably assumes it is his fault for letting him escape with them, but then again he probably would of gotten masacred(sp?) by Avacado for cutting his d*ck…ewww that avacado guy grossed me out….I wonder if Scofield will ever get to see Morelands daughter…but I’m doubting it becuz she might have already died and he’s way too busy with his life right now. I hope Sucre gets out some how. Does anyone have any idea when PB 4 will air??? I’m thinking i’ve heard of September from somewhere…

  • Erin
    Apr 3, 2008 at 5:40 am

I think Nikki should post a blog where people can comment on their views about what they think should happen with Mahones character, or Susan’s character. Between Whistler, Susan, and Mahone I’m pretty sure one or maybe a few of them are going to be beneficial for Scofield in some way….I mean look at Kellerman(R.I.P.) So can we get that kinda blog posted Nikki??????

  • Jen
    Apr 3, 2008 at 10:29 am

I’m very happy that Sara is back. The MISA story;ine was very interesting, they never really got to be a couple and I think they do deserve to be one in PB. Together they are stronger as a team and this only makes the show better. It is a TV show and if people wants everything to be realistic then they should only watch the news and nothing else on TV, not even commercials.

  • Erin

  • Scott

If that is the case, then i will be very disappointed in the writers.

  • Dom
    Apr 4, 2008 at 9:10 am

How can you possibly bring her back? LJ said he saw her get her head chopped off, Lincoln saw the head in the bucket- wtf? This is absurd and you just lost a die-hard PB fan.

  • Erin
    Apr 4, 2008 at 1:41 pm

Um Dom obviously you aren’t too diehard of a fan. Goodnes. LJ NEVER said he saw her get her head cut off…he said he heard it..but it could of been anyone he heard. And Lincoln never saw a head in a bucket it was in a box. He barely looked at it, and being a nurse, I know that a head being left in a box like that with no chemicals to preserve it, not to mention the hot weather, would rarely ever look like the actual person.
If you understood Prison Break then maybe you would understand? If you want something more realistic watch Surivor or something

  • sara
    Apr 5, 2008 at 12:39 am

hmnmh, i dont think it all has to be realistic, but it has to be plausible. thinkable. like, of course the whole terrrence steadman is alive concept was not very realistic, but one could accept it quite easily. here, it just seems very unikely, for so much evidence was given otherwise. (which is understandable since at first, the writers really also thought she was dead. i mean wentworth himself said she was. later however they changed their minds…)

i like sara, but im worried that like this, we cant take a characters death seriousely anymore. like, if terrence steadman, nick savrinns father, abruzzi (was thought dead after tbag slashed his throat) and now sara can come back, why should be even bother be shocked/sad when a character dies in the future? if a character can have the head (seemingly, though it was someone else now they say) chopped off, a person hear that and be in the same room (LJ said he was there, but closed his eyes and just heard it), etc and come back…

of course ill still watch, and its not as if i have no faith in the writers (i just think even the most amazing writers may have a hard time making this plot work). but ill be really glad to be proved wrong, and if season 4 ends up being just as great as the others. :)

shame we have to wait until september though…! :(

  • C Edge
    Apr 7, 2008 at 4:28 pm

Well, this is shocking… I HATED the fact that they killed her, but the show kept me interested, so I kept watching. And I guess that will be the same next season.

But they have set up several mysteries and we need to have these plots continue… Like what happens with those they left in Sona? (Sucre, his GF and baby need to be ones of the few with a happy ending.) And what about the company? I want Mahone to be secretly reformed (am I crazy?) I want Gretchen to die.

Season 3 was going somewhere… I hope that they don’t leave us hanging or dismiss what they have been setting up.

I also hope they do something to build the tension between Michael and Sarah again. It’s going to be as awkward as hell to just have them be together right away. Does he have to look for her at all?

Please don’t make Sarah a wuss and please don’t revisit the whole drug addict angle. The whole OD scene in S-2 almost killed any respect I had for the character. She’s tough enough to work in a prison, but letting an innocent man escape made her want to off herself?! Give me a break.

I’m glad she’s back… I think… I didn’t want Michael to get too dark, or cross the “line” and he needs to have a possibility for happiness…

So I hope they keep working their magic on Prison Break.

PS: Just say NOOOOOO to a female prison break show!!! How ridiculous.

    Apr 11, 2008 at 5:48 am

This is slightly off topic, but i just rewatched the episode and wanted other peoples opinions on it:

in season 1, episode 19 ‘the key’, in the scene where michael’s trying to get the key from sara and he tells her to wait and that it wont always be like that [refering to being in the prison]

Is he just trying to manipulate her, or is he actually being serious? I used to think he was manipulating her, but having just rewatched it i’m not to sure now…

    Opinions anyone?

  • Sierra
    Apr 11, 2008 at 7:01 am

i always thought he was sincere - he said all of that after he kissed her and after he failed to swipe the key from her. i think he meant what he said. he knew that he was breaking out soon and he knew that while he was out he wouldnt be able to see her for awhile - i think he said that to get an answer from her and to sort of hint to her that even when he does break out he wont forget about her and does want to be with her when everything with him and his brother settles down. thats my opinion:)

Welcome back Sarah. We never thought for one second that you had left our screens for good! When the discovery of your so called head, that never looked close to that of you, was found in that ‘BOX’, we had to watch the episodes over and over again. To those who are calling PB another Dallas or Days of Our Lives or what ever, YOU ALL SUCK!!!!!! WAKE UP this is PRISON BREAK 4 and the directors have done a outstanding job to date in making us believe that Sarah was be-headed. Not for one second did we believe that it was the fact as there was room left for the possible return of Sarah.

What would our lives be without our weekly dose of Prison Break and all its Merchandise, Pictures, etc. From our family in Cape Town SOUTH AFRICA, we will remain DIE HARD fans. It is a drug.

for all of u retatrts out there who think that the show is better off with out sara, scrow u!! with out sara in the show michal might as well just give up and kill himself. plus that the show would seriously be boring if there was no romance in it. and it would be fun for a change 2 see michal happy with some 1, incase u havent notest michall allways smiles when saras around.i just wanna see michal and sara happy together.

“for all of u retatrts out there who think that the show is better off with out sara, scrow u!!”
hey, chill. no need to get so personal heh :)
and to me, romance was not the most important in the show. nice to have, but not most important. for those who cant get enough romance, watch some other great shows like OC or gossip girls…
and i wouldnt mind her coming back (id be even glad to see her again) if she had been “killed off” like kellerman - whom we actually never seen die. but the way they supposedly killed her…i just think its rather lame to bring her back again after all that…the way they try to say they left hints she may be alive after all? they didnt.
i guess it will get people interested, and the ratings for the show will go up again, which is what the producers want.
anyway, guess well see how well they bring her back. hope they make it work well :)

So to all the retatrts that do not want SARA back, good for you! But really, all those who do want SARA back, we will see all you retatrts watching Season 4. PB is WICKED and ADDICTIVE. Re-watch the entire series from Season 1 - Season 3 and one can clearly see that Sara and Michael are Prison Break. Screw those who want to Screw Sara out of some hot romance. Sara the majority of us appreciate the romance spin that PB has installed. If we wanted to watch a teeny-bopper show then maybe we would watch the OC or Gossip Girl…but apparently we seem to dig Prison Break. I’m sorry you don’t like the romance aspect, but that’s your problem….thankfully not ours!

I agree Sara and Erin, there are some another exciting things other than romance, for all the females, it is the hunk - Wentworth Miller. Then for the guys it is you the Sexy and adorable Sara. If there was an Erin, I would say something sweet about you too.

That reminds me, can anyone confirm that Sara was left out of Season 3 due to her been pregant?

Erin - Kellerman is still alive if one has to follow the scenes closely. He will return in Season 4.

Boy, first they killed Sara and several fans said ” I am NOT watching it anymore”, now they “say” they are bring Sara back, and now its” if they do, I am not watching PB anymore. Well, as much as I havent liked the way the show has went at times (like killing Sara off)…I started watching it from day 1 and will see it to the end. I personally do not believe the writers, I do not think they will bring Sara back. They have lied BIG time to us before, so why believe them now? They kept us THINKING Sara was coming back LAST season, and now it looks like the same thing all over again. She is dead. Sure, at first, it would have beeen nice if they had brought her back, but after several episodes of TELLING us she is without a doubt, dead…….leave her at that…….dead. Yes, this show is full of many twists and turns, and noone (not even Micheal) is safe from the writers, but bring Sara back? I really dont believe that.

i def believe the writers only because im one of the fans who petitioned to get her back. i saw how many people were upset by the fact that swc was gone and i think the low ratings of last season combined with the many michael/sara fans prompted the writers to bring her back. yes they have lied to us before but they have always said things to keep us watching, they assured us shed be back for season 3 and it was b/c they knew a lot of fans would be upset by her death that they continued to lie to us about her being back. but i dont think nick or any of the other writers would lie to us about something many fans are this excited about, and im sure swc’s agent would have said something if it were a lie. but this is just the way i see things. i strongly believe that they are coming back and if they are starting to shoot season 4 in may we could get some screencaps or promo pics soon. that being said the new season is def a long way away but if theyve released the news of saras return this soon than maybe theyll do so with some pics to prove it. or at least interviews.

why do you think none of the cast members have spoken publicly about this yet? are they not allowed? are they waiting til the season starts to promote it? or are they just staying away from the press and enjoying their hiatus?

Well, it is just a TV show, and TV is not reality (I am sorry, I dont buy even the reality shows as being all reality, ) but that is not a disscussion for here)….back to TV and PB, several shows have killed off acters/actresses and low and behold, brought them back to life! PB certainly has had its twists and turns and very unbelievable moments, but then its TV, why cant they bring back Sara? , but I am sorry, to tell the LEAD STAR of the show via email, that she is coming back, come on. Further more, I have lost all trust in the writers, yes, I will continue to watch the show, until the very final episode, but until I actually see Sara, (and the REAL Sara), I will not believe them at all. That is so nice of them if they listened to the fans that wanted Sara back, but in my opinion, dont get to excited until you actually see her…..the REAL her.. Personally , yes, I would have LOVED to have seen a romance between her and Micheal, and yes, I was mad when they “killed” her off (and the way they did it), but, guess what……I got over it and didnt stop watching the show because of it. I admit season 3 was not the best of the seasons, but its coming back for another,so maybe, just maybe, it will be one of the best seasons yet.

i dont know what WM thinks about this but he’s always said he’s enjoyed the dynamic between sara and michael and when swc left he said it was a loss. i obviously dont know him but i think he may like this turn of events. the season 4 storyline sounds like it has a lot of potential. these writers have made us believe the impossible before and im confident they’ll do it again. the actors hold their writers in high regard. im sure went and the cast believe in them. swc obviously does if shes agreed to come back to do the show. im happy for her, she seemed really invested into the show/character -i could understand why she didnt want to film her characters death scene.

I just think that telling the lead star via email is a low blow…on top of the fact that Went is telling everyone that Sara is defintly dead, while he is promoting the show. Its like breaking up with someone via email……..very low and cowardly. , but that is my opinion. I still dont really believe she is coming back, but then again, stranger things have happened on TV.

    Tina

It was much lower what was done to SWC last year. She was 7 months pregnant and she was in Europe promoting the show how if she was in the show in season 3, and when she got back to the US she had no job anymore !
How is that sounds to you ?

So Went will have a leading lady whith him after all. So what ? He´s a lucky guy … !

Oh my god, some so-called fans here are acting like fish heads!

Just get it, Sara is coming back, it’s confirmed! If you like that, then good, cause obviously it’s going to happen. If you hate it, then it’s your problem. And stop that “I’m really not gonna watch this show anymore”. Who cares? Not me anyway. Just stop watching, if that’s what you want, you’re the only one loosing on it, cause PB’s the best show ever.

I mean, it’s not like the whole show is about Sara just cause she isn’t dead, the other characters are still there you know… And that whole Dallas thing some people are talking about, I don’t think it’s anywhere near that. It’s not like Schofield’s gonna wake up and finding out that it’s all a dream. Now, in Dallas that Bobby -or-what-ever-his-name-was- died and then it was all a dream, the BIG difference is that our beloved Sara was never dead, she was alive this whole time.

Just stop with every silly comments where you’re nagging about how you hate it, OK if you don’t like it, but you don’t have to write a whole book about how this is a bad move. The writers for this show are really talented and I’m sure they’re gonna make this next season a really great one!
so GO Prison break, you’re the best!

its just funny, because there are even more people writting whole books why its so great shes back, and just keep going on with it…

I think this is ridiculous and — based on what was said in interviews and displayed on-screen — a clear example of the writers changing their minds.

By doing this, the show has sacrificed integrity and credibility, while also insulting the intelligence of viewers who aren’t willing to “look the other way” just because they want the character and the forced “romance” back.
