Dominic Purcell Talks About his Liverpool Roots

by Nikki on January 26th, 2008

dominic-purcell1.jpgDominic Purcell was born in Liverpool before emigrating with his family to Australia at the age of two.

“I spoke with a Liverpudlian accent until I was six years old and went to school,” he said.

“And there I was mercilessly teased by my Aussie buddies, so I quickly lost the Liverpudlian thing and started to speak like an Australian.”

With his Prison Break role he had to ditch the Australian accent for an American one!

“I was speaking American all day and then I’d get home and speak Australian and I just felt so exhausted by going back and forth that I just decided to speak it all the time. Now I just speak American.”

Besides Dom, the best Liverpoolians ever are The Beatles! No one can hold a candle to those 4 boys!

Yayyyy, Dom loves to speak American! And he’s becoming an American citizen this year. Just in time to vote!

I know Dom loves American football as well. He was at the Dallas Cowboys game last year with Amaury.

    Go Giants!!!

    Hey KONVICt,

Sorry dude I don’t know who Stevie Gerrard is. I’m American (a New Yorker). Is he a soccer player? My 16 year old son plays soccer, maybe he knows.

BTW, what yanks are you talking about?

liverpool fc was bought out in the summer by americans george gillet and tom hicks and they are ruining our club by not backing our manager rafa benitez its just irritateing rafa has been at liverpool 3 years and has bought a fair bit of success then the yanks/americans who have only been in liverpool 4 6 months went to see another manager about the job behind rafas back wich is totaly disrespectfull if you go on a google search and type in steven gerrard you will find out all about the man its also nice to see that you have respect 4 the late john lennon and the beatles you should if u ever get chance come over to liverpool its a great city full of beutifull woman u would realy enjoy it once you get past our scouse accent

I’m an american, and I just have to say I’m sad and disappointed by my non Kopite countrymen who don’t know who Rafa is, don’t know who “the damn Yanks” are, and how dare anyone not know who Captain Fantastic Stevie-G is! Let’s get rid of the Yanks, solidify Rafa for life, sign a lifetime contract for Stevie, Jamie, Torres, Rena, Kuyt, Sami, Skrtel, Xabi, Babel, Macherano, Voronin, and anyone else who bleeds “The Reds” type of red.
