Prison Break Buff

Chicken, Rat, or Human??

by Nikki on September 19th, 2007

So, during Orientacion when Whistler hands Bellick some food and tells him “That’s not chicken” - I immediately thought rat.

But that’s not what Mini TV Watch thinks!

Prison Break: Panama City is rough. Remember the jail-house riots from season 1? Child’s play. It’s like 28 Days Later in there, everyday, complete with cannibalism (Bellick to inmate: “Mmmmm…chicken”) and rotting corpses (inmate to Bellick: “That’s not chicken”). And the only way to get out is in a body bag. Or in the stomach of someone in the body bag.

So what do you think?!?

I was wondering myself what Whistler fed Bellick! I was eating while watching Prison Break and I stopped when I saw that scene!

Heck, if that’s not chicken, what IS it?

I guess when you haven’t eaten for days… everything tastes like chicken!

I was worrying and wondering about that too. At first, I thought it was a rat thinking that a place that is quite dirty, filthy and populated would have some rodents running around. Then when I saw the guy behind the wall what looks to be him scraping something I ended thinking was it really human meat instead?

The color of the meat given to Bellick was close to the color white, like white chicken, which made me think of cooked meat assuming that raw meat is reddish or pink in color. Then I thought how can someone cook meat in a dark area, with no or barely sunlight, unless they cooked it on a surface that is already hot like a heater or a pipe that is really hot? Wouldn’t the meat be burnt to the color brown or black instead of being close to white? Maybe the food was steamed using the hot air coming out of hot steam pipes….Maybe it wasn’t cooked :)

I guess we will have to find out what the food was later in the season.

It was Rat, Bellick says “He gave me some Rat meat” in episode 2.
