Prison Break Buff

Sona and Planes and Earthquakes

by Nikki on August 13th, 2007

An update on Nick Santora’s MySpace page:

So I spent a couple of days on the set in Dallas this past week. I haven’t lived the most virtuous life, so when I die, if I go to hell, at least now I know I will be prepared for the heat. Honestly, Dallas is the hottest place on earth. And despite the heat and humidity, our incredible cast and crew did, as always, amazing work. I got to spend some time with some of our great actors (Went, Bob Knepper, Bob Wisdom, Wade Willaims, Bill Fichtner, Laurence Mason and Crystal Mantecon just to name a few). The prison looks fantastic. The “feel” of the show is just amazing. And the actors are bringing all they’ve got - which is a lot! The episode is coming together very well and I can’t wait to see the first cut. After a quick 48 hours in Dallas it was a flight back to LA to be back in the writer’s room the next day. I didn’t get home until late that night and didn’t get to sleep until 12:30 am. The sleep didn’t last long because at 1am my wife woke me up. Our bedroom was shaking. It was an earthquake. Not a gigantic one, but at 4.6 it was the biggest one we’ve felt since we’ve moved out here. I was so out of it from the flight and the fact that I didn’t sleep more than 6 hours in the past 3 days because of the trip to Dallas and all, that I just kind of waited for our dresser and tv to stop vibrating and then I looked at my wife and said, “Well, I guess it’s over” and went back to sleep, but not before checking on our 3 year old who, of course, slept through the whole thing. 5 hours later I was up and off to work. And then after work that day I drove over 2 hours to Santa Barbara for a book event at Borders for my new novel “Slip & Fall” (a national best seller - if you haven’t picked up a copy yet, please do so!). I got home at 11am that night and passed out! Sounds tiring, but it’s not. Prison Break is great, and getting to work on this show makes life even better! Best, Nick.
