Prison Break - Episode 02.22 (Finale) Review

by Nikki on April 2nd, 2007

As if Michael had any other option but to trade everything for Lincoln.

Kellerman’s testimony was great, especially the bit about having orders to kill Sara. I thought it was some good acting on his part, looking regretful and looking off to the side. And then the poor guy gets arrested! I guess it was all coming, but you have to wonder if he wished his suicide had gone through.

Mahone calling Kim threw me for a loop. I guess we’ll have to see how that all pans out! Then his plan involves shooting Kim and framing Lincoln and Michael.

Of course Michael and Sara play phone tag. Need some tension build up for the finale. Can’t help but wish that she could have
told him that Lincoln was exonerated and she was free.

Why is the guy with Kim not talking again? He spoke on the boat!

Bellick and T-Bag wind up in the same cell at the embassy. How ironic. I wouldn’t mind watching the two of them get into it!

Poor Sucre bleeding all over the place and trying to find Maricruz. Then he watches Bellick get taken away…

Kim shows up with a band of merrymen and they all start shooting each other. Interesting how nobody bothered shooting at the boys. They take the money, Mahone takes the boat. And of course Michael set him up with a nice package of drugs.

Couldn’t help but feel sorry for Kellerman. You know he knew what was coming. But now Paul’s free to do some Grey’s Anatomy work :)

How sweet that Sara met them on the boat. Who knows how in the world she found them. I guess Michael left a detailed message on the phone! But why doesn’t Micahel look very happy that Lincoln is exonerated? He looks downright depressed.

And then that damn Kim shows up on the scene. And gets shot by Sara. And then they’re on the run AGAIN. And they left the money! Back to square one. So sweet to see Sara and Michael say they love each other, but then Michael has to go and play tough guy again and go to jail.

Looks like everyone’s ending up in jail. T-Bag doesn’t have the connections to get him out like he originally thought… Mahone gets taken in… Michael’s led away in handcuffs… both to Sona. Wonder if his tattoos will help him there. Appears that’s what the government wants as well. Some foreshadowing into Season 3 plotlines?

That prison looked HORRIBLE… Let’s hope Michael gets out quickly.

This is by far THE best episode in PB history! I love the Michael/Sara scene, sooo sad. You could tell in Michael’s eyes(mind)that he was going to take the fall for Sara. It’s true love, people! What’s going to happen to everyone?! The writers really did a fantastic job of making us fans want to come back to season 3. Kudos to all the writers!

    Hi there,

Today’s Prison Break episode was unbelievable. I didn’t expect Kellerman’s plot to frame Lincoln in the first place for murdering President Reynold’s brother, but the plot reveals itself in Season 2. I was happy for Kim to be blown to bits by Sara. But now as the plot goes on, Sona, the Panama prison awaits for Michael. I do hope that Season 3 would be more dramatic and intense than Season 2!

Hey is that Bellick you see on the floor at the end? Can anyone verify that?

As for Padman back to not talking to Kim, from what I remember he only spoke on the boat cause that was a blindspot.

For me the finale wasn’t the best episode of Season 2 but it was still a great watch with all the cliff-hangers. It was more of a sad episode too with Michael once again sacrificing himself despite the fact that Linc has been exonerated. Michael so should not have turned himself in and given up for god’s sake, I mean yes he did it for Sara but what good is it if he’s behind bars and separated from her and Linc again?!!! I thought that was a bad move and don’t tell me he’s got some tattoo somewhere to get him out of Sona too? Seriously though, I think he might team up with Mahone while they’re both in Sona in S3 and that might make a wonderful storyline. Just as long as I get my Went fix, I’m fine. Oh and yeah, I think it was Bellick lying on the floor. Last but not least, bye bye Evil Agent Kimmie…at least I hope it’s for real this time!

It was bellick it says so on the prison break website in recaps. I thought that was a great way to finish the season… theres definently a reason for why ‘The Company’ wanted him in Sona, so it will be good to see how the story line unfolds and is reinvented in series 3.
But whats left for linc to do now? cause he doesnt seem to have the brain power to get mike out of a cell, as he couldnt even get off his own handcuffs in this episode.

Yea, it pretty much confirmed all of the rumors. Michael IS in Prison again… tatoo is no longer useful. Michael can use his intelligence combined with Mahone helping they will get out for sure… make take until the end of the season.

One thing I noticed is everyones character is still open (except kim and kellerman) and the money is still alive!

no details on C-Note, his story is open…
    Sucre is not confirmed dead…
Bellick is still alive and in prison…
T-Bag is alive and in prison…
mahone is in prison as well…
    LJ and Linc are alive…
    Sara is alive…
    even President Reynolds is alive…

I wonder who t-bag was dealing with? I never seen that guy before. It seems like season 3 is like the government is trying to isolate genes in DNA that michael has for strategy and problem solving to build super soldiers or something? Thats kinda dumb, and far fetched from original plot lines of ‘brother breaks in jail to break brother out’

Season 3 would be back on 29th August 2007, almost 5 months after the season 2 finale.

I just read on Fox.com/prisonbreak under the recap section, that the prison Michael has entered is lawless. No guards, no order, prisoners are free to do whatever they want with/to one another. Kinda sends a chill down your spine. I’ve also heard that Season 3 will be pretty brutal, if that’s the case, Michael may lose more than the two toes he lost at the start of Season 1. But I can totally see Mahone, Bellick, T-Bag (if he ends up in there) and Michael eventually working together as a force and breaking out. Do we seriously have to wait over 4 months to find out what happens next? Arrgh! I havent quite put it together as to what Padman wants. That is the million dollar question. He expects Michael to break out of Sona, yet he has him put in there any way? There must be a particular reason behind this. But what?

To answer Nikki’s question in the review - the mystery man spoke in the boat because he knew there were no wire tap “bugs” in the middle of the lake - it was verbalized at some point in the season, so when he is enclosed areas where tapping is possible he writes everything down.
I can’t believe we have to wait - this show is so addictive, extremely suspenseful - can’t wait to see the twists it takes given the way the season ended. Sona should be interesting…

Was this NOT the SERIES FINALE?

Did Brett Ratner and his writers NOT promise PB would end this season?

    I recall he did.

And it’s TOTAL BS that PB did NOT end this season… they are dragging PB out now…

I mean come on… a new prison to break out of!!!

Total BS. I will NOT watch PB 3 nor will I watch another Brett Ratner (producer/director) or Wentworth Miller TV show or movie - seriously!!!

… maybe I’ll never watch TV again ;)

What was that painting on the wall before Mike turned into the light? Looked like a military emblem of some kind.

Did you see the wings over Mike when he entered the prison? Nice touch.

Michael, Bellick, T-bag and Mahone will work together idea to break out. My initial thought was that Padman wanted them to break out again so he could monitor them in some kind of human experiment… Why else would he have given Kim the message of ‘We only need 1 of them’. If Linc was imprisoned, Michael would try to break him out again… If michael was imprisoned he would in any case want to break out himself.

Quick question 1: Why was mahone not put through the same entrance as Michael when entering SONA??? It seems funny that they would put them through seperate entrances (as far as they know Mahone and Michael dont know each other or their history so why not just shove them through same entrance?)

I LOVE the idea that Padman wants someone in SONA broken out… it seems to tie in so much better with the whole story and is consistent with The Company’s ability to manipulate situations to meet their own ends. It is apparent that The Company has SOME sort of interest in SONA (there is classified file on the place that even Kim didnt have full clearance to.

Maybe SONA is a training/testing facility of sorts (maybe even OWNED and CONTROLLED by the company) used for human experiments (by that I mean social and survival experiments where the company OBSERVE inmates and their interactions)

Quick Question 2: Who (or what) is monitoring Padman so closely that he cannot speak freely???

Neither brother will die: If michael dies its the end of the show… if linc dies it would seem as if all Michaels efforts (and thus the whole of s1 and s2) were for nothing.

The tattoos have become redundant… A post earlier had it right in saying that the tattoos only helped them get to Panama (unless Michael had some crazy ‘Backup’ prison escape plan tattooed on the inside of his left ass-cheek… he is, as linc says, a guy who doesnt take a piss without planning it ;P). With the tattoos being defunct i beleive the writers will think up some painful way to get them off of Michael in season 3.

Quick Question 3: The overall theme of season 3 will be redemption. Whose redemption may i ask? Definitely NOT the brothers… Kellerman redeemed himself fully… Bellick has the small issue of Mari Cruiz… No redemption for Sucre is needed… T-Bag has PLENTY of owning up to do (maybe we’ll see T-bag shift to the good side in season 3… i hope not… i love that foul mouthed hillbilly :P)… Sara??? don’t think so (though she will disappear for a while)… Maybe the complany itself (they did allude to a ‘change in strategy’ once the convicts got to panama… could we see the emergence of a greater evil in season 3?)

LOL… just realized how much i wrote. PLZ gimme responses to the ideas posted…

Ive repasted this post across a number of topics so im sorry if you’re reading it again… just want my questions to reach as wide an audience as possible.

A few answers: Kellerman is DEAD (cant see why anyone would try save him… maybe the ex president… all we saw was the masked guys shooting into the back of the van so i guess they couldve been saving kellerman not killin him).
That broken heap on the floor WAS Bellick… Looks like he got his face rearranged in some prison ring fight.
JP… Brett Ratner and his writers dont get to decide when PB ends… FOX does (they are paying the salaries after all ;P)… and i dont for 1 second believe that you wont be watching season 3, anybody whose watched the 1st 2 seasons is HOOKED :).
Regarding the MAIN POST by Nikki: Nobody aimed a gun at the brothers in the warehouse shootout cos you will recall Padman saying that ‘a change of strategy’ had taken place. You will also recall Kim criticising Mahone for not ‘having the brothers where we want them’ in the warehouse scene, thats cos Mahone was told to somehow get the brothers into SONA (Mahone was going to do this indirectly by killing Kim and framing the brothers for murder… and getting some measure of revenge in the process)

    Thanx for reading

Hmmmm just seen this here in England, kind of an interesting end.
So back in prison, they can only break out again. Mahone, Bellick, Michael and T-Bag might join them.

The big thing I feel to wait and see whaty happens is the thing with the bald general guy, he seems like a doctor or researcher looking into michael and the revelation of the Sona thing must have quite a big part to play, seems a little big of a diversion from how it started as a means of breaking out of prison, I hope it doesn’t get too scientific with Michael being a guinnea pig, that would be shit considering how it all started way back in the pilot.

Big bald guy to have major role for season 3, he seems to be running the show now, he’s big boss. I like the way in the last episode we saw a lot more of him than in other episodes and so this has kinda revealed him as a major player for season 3.

It’s gonna be good, if not a little weird.

Apparently Prison Break runs for 5 seasons, is this true?
