Reggie Lee to Star in Upcoming Pirates Movie

In a recent article posted at SpoilerTV, Reggie Lee recalls how an audition for a small part in the last trilogy of the blockbuster movie ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ turned into a more prominent role in the movie and revived his television career.

“It all started in April 2005,” said Lee, doing an interview with the Asian Journal at Daichan restaurant in Studio City last January. “It was kind of a real slow time. I hadn’t worked in about nine months. I had done ‘Fast and the Furious’ and a few guest appearances in a series for Fox [network] then Pirates of the Caribbean 3 came to me.”

Lee initially auditioned to play the role of Chow Yun Fat’s son in the third saga of the upcoming ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End,’ until a script change gave him an opportunity to play an important sidekick role opposite Yun-Fat.

In the upcoming Pirates 3 movie, he is set to play Tai Huang, the right-hand man to the films villainous antagonist Yun-Fat’s character Captain Sao Feng. Feng is the Pirate Lord of Singapore and captain of the Chinese ship The Empress.

After filming Pirates, Fox began to call Lee to play a recurring role in the network’s hit series ‘Prison Break.’ Lee plays William “Bill” Kim, a Korean Secret Service Special Agent and a high-ranking member of The Company.

“I tribute a lot of my recent success to Pirates,” said Lee. “It’s like when you get a job you become a little more confidant about doing other things and it builds your confidence. I went from nine months of no work to Pirates then doing 15 episodes of Prison Break.”
